Fifteen Months and Seven Stories: Life Through Locked Doors and Masks is a book authored by Asha Singh Gaur that captures the profound human experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a collection of seven distinct narratives, the book delves into the emotional, psychological, and social upheavals that transpired over a challenging fifteen-month period of lockdowns, social distancing, and mandatory masking. The cover prominently features an evocative image of an empty street seen through a rusted keyhole, perfectly mirroring its poignant tagline: "A lot happened when the world was locked that cannot be measured in numbers." Rather than focusing on cold statistics and infection rates, Gaur's work shines a spotlight on the untold personal struggles, resilience, and quiet transformations of everyday individuals navigating life behind closed doors.
 
 
About the Author
 
Asha Singh Gaur is an author, translator and editor. After completing her master's in Plant Taxonomy, she joined the corporate world. After a decade-long corporate career, in 2015, she set out to pursue her passion and started writing professionally. Her work is inspired by her surroundings, people, nature and important incidents. Her poems have been appreciated and awarded at various levels. She writes in Hindi and English.
 
Her work includes a book of Hindi poems, 'Surkh Laal Barf'. A novella, 'The Sign', and around four poetry anthologies,   three of which were edited by her. She has contributed to a futuristic anthology on India, 'India@1947'. She has also translated two novels, several stories and around forty comic books. In 2015, the manuscript of 'Surkh Laal Barf' was awarded the Radha Awadhesh Saahitya Smriti Samman, and in 2024, she was awarded the Sahitya Ratna Samman for poetry from  Indianet Books, Delhi. Her poem, Sarhadein, was awarded by the Poetry Society of India.
