About the book
India's geographical structure is vast and its borders extend from the icy mountains of the North, the vast desert of the West, the dense forests of the East, and the Arabian Sea in the West and the Bay of Bengal in the South. This geographical structure presents many complex challenges. After the Partition of India, protecting these borders became the biggest administrative challenge, due to which the Border Security Force (BSF), one of the world's largest border forces, was established. On December 1, 1965, the Border Security Force (BSF) was established with the blessings of the then Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and Home Minister Gulzari Lal Nanda. K.F. Rustamji, an IPS officer, became its first Director General. The BSF is not just a promise of duty but a great determination to live a life of sacrifice and is committed to protecting the nation even in the most adverse circumstances. This book aims to give words to the glorious tales, honor the sacrifices of the BSF, and make them reach the common people.
